bio

Belinda Griffiths is a multimedia artist and maker of digital objects, intrigued by the metaphysical tension between reality and  memory. Using intangible materials like light and projection for experiences that are ungraspable, ephemeral creations of multi-sensory phenomena through installation, sculpture, video projection and sound. Through her creative research she investigates notions of what constitutes real when it is subverted by a pixelated permeable boundary, the hyper real, where the physical and virtual touch.

Completing her Master of Fine Arts with first class honors at Massey University 2023. She studied digital illustration and graphic design, successfully working in the film industry for some 10 years and has extended those disciplines and technologies into her practice.

A full-time practicing artist, her works are held in private collections in New Zealand, Australia, France and the USA.
